If you have any other special needs including medication, please make your own arrangements for these. If you are cold blooded, wear heavier clothing if necessary or bring something with you to put on. Plan a way to get home if you are under 15 or if you think you will be too tired to drive yourself after the LAN.

What about parking?

Park anywhere that isn't occupied starting with Unit 15 out front expect blocking our garage or any other unit's garage. Most companies are not operating on Saturday / Sunday so we should have most parking spots. If you see a company that is open for business, please avoid using their parks.

Are there any other rules?

No one is allowed upstairs in the KISS IT offices without permission during the LAN.

Please respect all equipment that might be on premises during the LAN. KISS IT is gracious enough to loan the use of their facility for the LAN Party.

Please follow all instructions from KISS IT staff that are available during the LAN.

Other Information

Do I need to have all the game discs for all the games?  Yes, if you want to play them, otherwise we cannot guarantee you will be able to play along with everyone else.

Is there going to be file sharing?  People will be sharing Steam Backups so you don't waste bandwidth downloading patches or missing steam games, some people use DC++ during the event rather than Windows file shares, so if you use DC++, hash your system before you arrive, or prepare to wait for the hashng to complete.

Can I use mods or cheats in any of the games?  No, this is totally not allowed and you will be asked to leave if you are using a mod or cheat that is not approved for game play.  If you are unsure, ask for permission first, or don’t use it at all.

Can I leave early or arrive late?  Yes, you can arrive or leave at your leisure.

Is this sponsored by KISS IT Limited?  No, this event is not sponsored or hosted by KISS IT Limited in no form.  They have donated their premise and some equipment for usage and many thanks go to them for their contribution to the gaming community in the Bay of Plenty.

Where can I buy the games in question if I don’t have them?  You can directly buy the games off Steam, or you can buy the games at your local shops like EB Games at Bayfair or other electronic stores.  KISS IT will not have the games available for purchase during the event. Steam is a great service, requiring a credit card or pay pal to buy games, it is a secure easy way to own games.

Are there going to be any prizes?  Yes, these will be kept secret until the event. There will likely be a few prizes given out during the LAN, but the details of which and how you can win one are not made public and are still to be determined at this time.  We are always looking at the possibility of prizes to make the event a little more interesting.

Please also note:

KISS IT does not promote nor encourage piracy of any kind.  Any partipants found to be blatantly encouraging or promoting piracy on the KISS IT Premises will be given a warning and then MAY be asked to leave the event (without a refund).

By attending this event and signing this disclaimer you are agreeing that you understand and will stick to the regulations of the premises.

It is up to the discression of the Lan Party Hosting Supervisors (Andrew, Frank & Steve) if a user has breached the terms & conditions of the event or not, and only 1 warning per person will be given, after that 1 of the supervisors have the right of asking a participant to leave if they do not abide by the guidelines set out for the event.

KISS IT tries to encourage the use of ligit software & games, if you don't have a game that the others are playing and want to know the best / cheapest way of purchasing it so you can join in on the fun please talk with any of the event supervisors present and they will try to assist you where possible.

Please ensure that your PC is VIRUS FREE and that you are running a good / current antivirus program before entering the event premises as we do not want 1 infected PC spoiling everybody else's fun.  Any PC's found to be Infected will be disconnected from the network until they are cleaned up and only then may re-join.  If you are unsure whether your PC is has enough protection or is protected correctly feel free to ask one of the Supervisors present.

Where possible please try to ensure that the Lan games you intend on playing are patched to the correct version as outlined on the KISS IT Gaming document of games to be played & versions required.

KISS IT has donated the premises for the purpose of a fun Lan Party function for all attendees to enjoy without prejudice, racism, abuse, or ill manner.  There is to be respect for other individuals and the property of individuals at this event.  Direct abuse towards other attendees will not be tolerated.

There will be at least 1 Network port available per person to plug your PC into, but please bring your own Network cable where possible (recommended at least 2-3 metres length at minimum, 5m is even better) otherwise you may find your PC is stretching to get plugged into the nearest port.

There is to be No Drugs, Smoking or Alcohol on the Lan Party premises.  Any mess or drink / food spills must be cleaned up promptly by the parties involved who contributed to the mess.  All rubbish at your surrounding area must be put into the bins provided in the premises otherwise you will not be invited back for the next event.

Happy Gaming!!
